We may not always promote it, but Fourtitude is part of a portfolio of several significant European car focused websites. Namely, it calls VWvortex.com and Swedespeed.com sisters and, coincidentally enough, each of these sites seems to be building station wagon project cars at the moment.
Even better, each of these websites’ station wagon-based project cars just happened to be in the DC metro area last weekend. Early Saturday morning we headed over to the local Katie’s cars & coffee event in Great Falls, VA. Between that and the Audi Club of America event at Audi HQ in Herndon, we managed to stage these three wagons for a photo shoot.
If you read this website, then you’re already aware of Project B85 allroad. The car is the basis for an ongoing series here that shows how you can take Audi’s soft roader wagon and make it more of a sporting Avant. You can find more on it HERE.
From our Swedish sister site you’ll find this V60 T6 AWD. Not to be confused with the super limited V60 Polestar, this particular car is an OEM plus take on the more common turbocharged 6-cylinder version painted in the same look-at-me Polestar blue as its more limited brand sibling. In this case, the car’s owner has de-chromed the car, added an exhaust and some other upgrades including 20-inch XC90 wheels. We feel like it’s our allroads’ brother from a Swedish mother and we wish he’d add some color-matched V60 XC flares already.
Last up in our Vortex Media Group wagon lineup is this Golf Sportwagen from VWvortex. This project follows the more recent trend of placing a car on air bags for maximum suspension adjustability and parking it at shows at an impossibly low ride height. The look setup isn’t for everyone, but as the airbag scene grows, we’re learning a lot of experience from our Volkswagen driving officemates. See more about this project HERE.
Of course we shot a mix of photos from the shoot near Audi of America headquarters. You can find all of the photos in our gallery link below and also to the right of this story.
