So the party’s started. To anyone counting, it’ll be more than two weeks until the main Wörthersee days take place, and yet the crowd has already formed by a picturesque lake in Austria. The world’s largest enthusiast meeting has unofficially begun, and we’ll be taking you there almost daily via photos shot by Fourtitude contributors.
Today’s mix of shots come from UK photographer Si Gray, who has barely arrived in his road trek from the UK. That’s a long slog and, while we could feel bad for him, he tells us that his hotel is full of Norwegians who drove over double the distance. Whatever guys. You’re in an amazingly beautiful vacation town in Austria surrounded by equally amazing cars. We do not feel your pain.
Like H20i in recent years, Mr. Gray reports that volume of cars on the ground is both up and heavily mixed with cars that are not Volkswagen Group offerings. That the general auto enthusiast world has discovered these shows in greater quantity may be good or bad, and we’re waiting to see how this plays out.
Take a look amongst the shots sent over by Si and you’ll see some comment-worthy examples. From aggressively wide like the widebody MQB A3 Sportback above in our header to the aggressively wild leather-shod B6 S4 Cabriolet also in this story. Wörthersee’s barely begun and it’s already proving why it is such a spectacle.
Expect more coverage, likely on a daily basis for the next few weeks via our blog. We’ll be adding a master Wörthersee feature to our cover rotation soon. In the meantime, check out today’s photos in the story below and note the link to our master Wörthersee gallery in the usual spots below and also to the right of this story.
