We are now two solid weeks into our Worthersee coverage and our own George Achorn is on the ground to cover the show and the manufacturer’s displays.  With the event finally getting underway and Audi unveiling a few concept vehicles for the attendees, today was a busy one.  In total, George clicked his shutter no less than 800 times today.  Lets get started.

A3 clubsport quattro concept

Ahh yes, the one we have all be waiting for.  Powered by a 2.5 liter TFSI making 525hp, the A3 clubsport quattro was originally designed to specifically to showcase “extreme power and dynamics in compact format.”  All told, the quattro all wheel drive system and seven-speed S tronic transmission will propel the concept to 62mph in just 3.6 seconds and keeps going to a top speed of 192mph.  The A3 clubsport quattro is half an inch lower and three inches wider than the stock A3, and features a large rear air brake which shortened stopping distance from 155mph by nearly 40ft.

TT quattro sport concept

While this is not the first time we’ve seen this particular concept, it Audi is definitely showing it to the correct market by bringing the car to Worthersee.  With 420hp on tap, Audi’s TT quattro sport concept is exactly the kind of small, sporty car that the kind of enthusiasts who attend shows like this one yearn for Audi to build. Coming in under 3000lbs, the TT quattro sport is a serious performer and we know that we aren’t alone in hoping something similar makes it to production.

Q3 Camping Tent concept

Appealing to the outdoorsman in us, the Q3 Camping Tent concept comes equipped with a Tent (you guessed it) which can be fully rolled out and set up in just seven minutes.  Once inflated, the tent can withstand winds up up to 44mph and can be hooked up to the Q3′s rear hatch if needed.  The concept also comes with a kayak on the roof, just in case you happen to be camping near some rapids.

The Main Event

Once George made from the manufacturer displays to the event parking around Reifnitz, he was greeted with pure madness.  As cars began rolling in two weeks ago specifically for the event and its lead up activities, there is quite a lot to see.

Not only are there a ton of cars scattered throughout the town of Reifnitz, but there are also thousands of enthusiasts wandering around from lot to lot.  With a great mixture of scenery and some of the most insanely modified Volkswagens and Audis in Europe in attendance, we can see why people come from all over for the event.

Since Reifnitz is completely closed during the event (you need to pay to get in), one might say that the town is a Audi enthusiast’s heaven.  All we know is that we can’t wait to get back next year.

We will continue to upload photos over the weekend and format our galleries all weekend, and post a recap very shortly once all of the pictures are in the correct places.  In the meantime, be sure to check out the photos that have been uploaded, right here.
