Earlier this week we published an initial report from the reveal of the Audi A3 and S3 sedan reveals at New York’s Chelsea Piers. Audi chose this week to pull the covers from the car in the Big Apple largely due to the timing coinciding with the opening of the New York Auto Show. Unfortunately for those attending the event at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, these new offerings weren’t on display. Even still, that didn’t stop Audi from loading out their stand with many new models to see and enjoy.
First revealed at the North American International Auto Show, New York marked the second major American showing of the new RS 7.
Another Detroit worldwide reveal was the North American SQ5 spec with its 3.0 TFSI engine.
Audi’s new R8 is getting closer to the customer delivery stage, so no surprise that a facelifted Audi R8 V10 plus was on the stage in New York. This car was even more intriguing with Sepang Blue matte paint and diamond-stitched interior detailing.
Also confirmed earlier this year was the RS 5 Cabriolet. With temperatures outside solidly approaching optimum convertible levels, this red RS 5 Cabriolet made a fine addition to the Audi stand.
Recently we learned that the TT RS has ceased production and that is likely one reason for that car’s first noted absence at a major auto industry show. Given that, the TT was well represented this time around by a Glacier White version of the new S line competition package.
