As part of its Home of quattro Alpine Tour, Audi AG is also releasing the its new RS Q3 high-performance small crossover to the European automotive press. Though not part of the Alpine Tour, we do have access to the materials that have been released around its happening and as such we’ve added a whost of new shots of the RS Q3 to our photo gallery for the vehicle.
Those following along will note several significant points about the 2.5 TFSI-powered RS Q3. The model marks the first time quattro GmbH has added the vaunted RS-car nomenclature to a crossover. Given the explosion of the small crossover segment and the irresistable nature of the 5-cylinder turbocharged 2.5 TFSI drivetrain, contacts in Neckarsulm that the car is a runaway success and orders have already outstripped projected sales much as they did with the RS 3 Sportback.
The link below to our photo gallery will take you to our RS Q3 gallery folder where you’ll find several subfolders. New photos have been added to the Technical, (EU) and Audi Exclusive sections. These include normal production shots of a matte exclusive example and a tailored Imola Yellow version from Audi Exclusive with matching diamond-stitching on the leather seats. You can click to each via the links in this paragraph or follow our gallery link to the main folder.
So what’s the prognosis for America? We’ve got a European source that tells us that it’s likely a done deal. The Q3 is set to come to America in about a year, likely making use of the crossover’s mid-lifecycle facelift to keep it fresh. Given America is a very large market for RS-models as well as crossovers, the information we’ve heard sounds as if it’s likely accurate. Of course, should we get more solid intel we’ll certainly pass it along.
Enjoy.
