Any visit to the towering Audi Forum Neckarsulm should begin at the Audi Exclusive showroom on the facility’s second floor. The space is used by quattro GmbH to show off its tailoring capabilities and as such the mix of cars is usually rife with very unlikely colors, equipment and materials. Most attention-grabbing this particular week was one yellow S5 Cabriolet.
Speed Yellow seems a recent favorite of Audi product planners. The hue is one of two standard on the new TTS competition limited edition. While close to the familiar Imola Yellow, Speed Yellow is just slightly different with not quite so much amber. If we had to guess, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it more widely used, particularly in S and RS-car configurations.
Even more intense on this particular S5 was the interior spec. The car’s yellow exterior was matched by a two-tone yellow and back theme, with yellow leather segmentation liberally used on elements like seating surfaces and even the steering wheel. Black leather surfaces were further accented by contrasting yellow leather.
Clearly such a car is geared toward a very specific customer and it’s not for everybody. Even still, it seems perfectly suited to show off what can be done in such showroom.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to spec Audi Exclusive tailoring for the S5 at this detail level if you live in North America.
