We’ve just finished our first press day at the 2015 Frankfurt IAA and are proud to announce that we’ve added hundreds of photos of both Audi and Lamborghini at the show for your enjoyment.

Of course the stars of this show for Audi were the e-tron quattro electric “C BEV” effectively aimed squarely at TESLA’s own upcoming Model X electric crossover.

And, while an electric crossover took center stage for Audi, that didn’t stop the brand of the four rings from showing off several more conventional and performance models. First amongst them, is the new A4. Though what may look like a relatively evolutionary design change, the new A4 is substantially improved when it comes to equipment and efficiency in drivetrains. That’s all been released over the last few months, but when it came to B9 Audi did have another surprise to reveal in the form of the new S4.

Both an Avant and a sedan were announced, though just a sedan was visible this first day of the show and we hear it may not be displayed for public days as it will be several months before the car is available for sale, even in Europe. The new S4 is powered by an equally new single turbo 3.0-liter V6. Interestingly, it also drops Audi’s manual transmission option and switches its S-tronic gearbox for an improved 8-speed Tiptronic. Purists and enthusiasts have already started to grouse a bit about this last choice, but more on that later.

Also adding to Audi’s performance portfolio were two plus models. Most radical was the S8 plus, a hotter version of Audi’s S-car Q-ship, with quattro GmbH (Audi Sport nowadays) re-worked 4.0 TFSI engine and black optics with plenty of carbon fiber. This thing is sinister, but more on that later.

Next up is the SQ5 TDI plus. This is a hotter version of the Europe-only SQ5 TDI model with plenty of Audi exclusive upgrades.

Finally, Lamborghini also used Frankfurt to show off its new Huracan Spyder. While the coupe never looked pedestrian exactly, the Spyder seems to amp the level of exoticism for Lambo’s latest baby bull.

Check out all of our photos in our photo gallery archive linked below and also to the right of this story. Also watch for continued stories more specific to each reveal as we have a chance to sit down and review. In the meantime, we’re headed out tomorrow from Frankfurt to an island near Venice, Italy to sample the B9 Audi A4 on public roads.
